Summer Farm Fun Day & Potluck Dinner

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Enjoy the farm in the peak of summer! Plan to spend the whole afternoon & early evening at the farm. Swim, help with chicken chores, take a veggie sampling tour, learn about cover crops, take a flower tour, eat yummy farm food, listen to music, stay late to star-gaze or take a night walk down the farm road farm road

Events So Far

  • All Day Come by and go for a swim whenever, farm store open on and off throughout the day "by appointment" - just track us down.
  • 2PM For Kids - Visit the chickens and help collect eggs
  • 3PM Tour the veggie fields with Laura Neale (approximately 1 hour)
  • 3:30PM Tour the flower fields with Sarah Bostick (approximately 1 hour)
  • 4:30PM Gather around the barn for our potluck dinner and some live music!
  • Food
Plan to bring a dish that can be kept cold or at room temperature so that you can spend as much of the afternoon hanging out at the farm as possible. There will be fridge space available at the barn. If you do want to bring a heated item, try bringing it in a crock pot that can be plugged in at the barn. **If you can bring a note with the ingredients in your dish for people with food sensitivities or restrictions, that would be helpful.

    Drinks
We'll offer up water, iced tea and some home brewed kombucha. The farm store will be open for other drinks. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages. We.ll have some coolers with ice for people who want to bring other drinks to share.

    What to Bring
The share room will be our potluck serving area. We will eat on picnic tables and picnic blankets in front of the barn. Bring your own extra lawn chairs or picnic blankets. We will have plates and silverware available, but it is very helpful for you to plan to bring your own picnic place settings: plate, bowl, cup, spoon, fork, knife for each person in your group. This makes cleanup a lot easier and ensures that we'll have enough silverware for everyone!! More events in the works. check back soon Have an idea of what you might be planning on bringing to the potluck? Send us your potluck dish ideas for us to share, so that everyone can start to look forward to the food.
