Farm Philosophy
Farm Philosophy
Our vegetable farm is certified organic, and our pigs and chickens are raised on certified organic grain – organic is important to us! But stripped of all its buzzword baggage, the word “organic” is really about good farming. For us, this means focusing on soil and ecosystem health, humane treatment of animals, a living wage for farmers and practices that our land can sustain for many generations. We strive to live up to these goals on our farm, and we seek out farm partners who share this vision.
Often, this translates into a product that’s certified organic. But sometimes, for a variety of reasons, it doesn’t. A large majority of the foods we provide for you are certified organic. But there are little pieces of our business and our partners’ businesses that are not. We have described the farming practices behind the products for each share in the page for those shares. Use the “Our Shares” menu to learn more.
